The seventh general election of the Graduate Student Council Bureau of China-EU School of Law was held at 19:00, March 14th, in 306 of Mingfa building, Changping Campus with student members. The general election was hosted by Ms. ZENG Dong, member of the student union.
The election was organized by the previous year's student representatives. The four candidates introduced themselves by campaign speech, introduction of their recommendations and a Q&A session before the actual voting took place. MENG Fanqin was elected as the new chairman of the Graduate Student Council, with LI Xinlong and CHEN Lingyu being elected as Vice-Chairmen.
Carried out by secret ballot, the election is a multi-candidate election, which means the top three candidates who get the most votes of all the four will make up the new bureau of Graduate Student Council. Each vote shall be cast to one to three candidates and the elected is required to get more than 1/2 of all valid votes. After the election program has been released, four students from 2015 intakes submitted their applications as candidates.
Before the elections, LIU Kun, the Chairman of the Sixth Graduate Student Council, summarized the work of the council in the past academic year, pointed out achievements and difficulties in the work, including welcoming the new intake, the New Year's party as well as sports activities, expressed gratitude to the hard work of all council members and the support of the administration and fellow students. Meanwhile, LIU Kun placed his expectations and hope on the new bureau, and spoke of a prospect for the development of Graduate Student Council.
Then the campaign officially started. Four candidates from 2015 intakes made a clear theme and passionate speech in turn. Subsequently, Chen Lu, Chen Qian and Yin Ping made respective recommendation to four candidates. LIU Kun also gave recommendations on behalf of the previous council.

After the vote, the new Bureau was created and elected members extended appreciation for the support of all the students and expressed strong determination on providing better service for the students by working together to lead the student members of the Graduate Students Council to do their job, continuously to develop and improve the system of the Graduate Students Council, striving to be a bridge between the law school and students and trying their best for the development of China-EU School of Law.
At the end, the two Co-deans delivered their wishes to the new Bureau and took photos with them.
